Yeah I helped my cousin bag a nice little 3x4 opening weekend rifle up there but I think it was more luck on that guy as we were not seeing much sign... I wont be hunting deer as I have already shot mine this year but my family still has tags... may try a little yote hunting while I am up there...

You must be talking about archery?  Doesn't the late rifle tag end tomorrow?
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

A friend of mine's son shot a decent buck yesterday.  Havn't seen any pics just a phone call.  I know of one other guy that has passed on a few small bucks he just isn't seeing any big bucks.

Our deer herd is struggling down this way too.  This seems to be the norm for our state.  We have a serious cat problem here in klickitat county though.  They are finally starting to do something about it though with dog hunters sometime this month I believe, but I don't know what the quota is hopefully about 500 of those *censored*s.  good luck, they are around still just not as plentiful as they use to be.

No joke on the cats. I turkey hunt down there religiously and have seen 4 cats in the last 2 springs. That is 4 too many to be seeing. But I'm still picking up a lot of shed antlers, so all is not lost. Good luck on the late hunt.

Just got a call from a buddy of mine in Goldendale.  His dad just shot a pretty decent buck.  They are going to pack it out as we speak.

Yep on the cats we were down there for deer and seen the kills in one of the canyons we hunt. Seen track also. Never did see the cat.  I did see a Mt. Goat, talked to the Biologist and he said it has been a weird year with goats showing ip in areas that they have never been before :dunno:

We're planning on hunting down there this next season. Plan on taking a scouting trip this summer. Wish it was not so far, I would take a trip and try to fill one of my cat tags.

My dad and uncle had tags but I don't think they were successful thought I will call him to see if they saw anything. I was successful a few years ago.

fc2038, I saw a goat in the weirdest spot down there...across the river from Leidl campground. Same goat? Anyway, strange spot for a goat.
